I know that it might seem like a strange idea to spend money to save money but hear me out. We have a family of five and for a long time everyone nearly always bought their lunches every day. In this economy we really needed to find ways to save. Although I did go out and buy a slightly expensive insulated lunch tote for each member of my family I thought of it as making an investment and it has really paid off.
You see you have to think about it like this, the insulated lunch tote that I got for each member of my family cost about $15 each, for my family of five that’s $75 in insulated lunch totes. I had to spend the money because I wanted to make sure that each one was something that everyone would want to carry and use. The shocking part is that they paid for them selves in the first week! I could not believe that a insulated lunch tote could do this but it really has.
On an average day I would spend $6 on my lunch, my husband would spend $8 on his, and the three kids spent $4 each on school lunches. That’s $26 a day on lunches, in one week were spending $130! After buying foods for our lunches and the insulated lunch totes I spent $125 that first week, so not that much savings the first week but the second week I only spent $20 to replace a few things in our fridge for our lunches and that means that the second week we save $110. What can your family save? We each continued to use our insulated lunch tote every single week day since then and not only have we now save thousands of dollars but my husband and I have started loosing weight too!
The moral of the story is that an insulated lunch tote can really save you a lot of money in the long run, even if you insist on buying the more expensive insulated lunch tote. They are very fashionable. On top of that you might just find that you drop a few pounds because of your insulated lunch tote and that means that some of the money that you have saved might just be able to go to some new out fits too! With an insulated lunch tote you will also find that you have more time during your lunch breaks to get other things done, in fact I have even found time to take a quick walk on my breaks and that’s helping me loose even more weight!
